In order to get started with your appointments, you need to provide our reception team with your ICBC Claim number, your name and your date of birth. T After that, we will contact your adjuster on your behalf and take care of the rest. Once we have received confirmation from your adjudicator, you can begin your treatments right away!
The number of sessions and the frequency of the sessions depends on what ICBC adjudicators decide, however, ICBC customers are entitled to ICBC funding for the pre-authorized number of treatment sessions within the first 12 weeks from the date of their crash. In 2023, ICBC pre-authorizes 12 visits for Acupuncture and 12 visits for Registered Massage Therapy. The number of pre-authorized treatment sessions includes the initial assessment visit.
Pre-authorized treatments are limited to one treatment by the same practitioner-type per day, but there is no restriction to the combination of pre-authorized treatments. For example, a customer may attend a registered massage therapy treatment and an acupuncture treatment on the same day, but not two massage therapy treatments on the same day.
You can, but at your own expense. Acupoint Wellness is not responsible for claims refused by ICBC.
Not all of our team are accepting ICBC patients at this time. Appointments can only be made with a member of our team who is a registered ICBC practitioner. If you are booking online, you will see an option for an ICBC session under certain practitioners - you can go ahead and book your 30 minute ICBC session with them. Alternatively, if you email or call our office team, we would be happy to book an appointment for you.
Treatments times are set by ICBC at 30 minutes per treatment for both Registered Massage Therapy and Acupuncture. If you feel you would like additional time in the treatment, you can, however this will be charged to the client directly. Our administrative team will provide a receipt that can be claimed through extended benefits. Extending your session can only be requested through our front desk via email or by phone. Unfortunately, sessions cannot be extended using out online scheduler.
Please call or email at least 24 hours in advance if you need to move or cancel your appointment. All appointments that are either late cancellations or no-shows will be charged a fee and will be paid in full by the patient as ICBC will not pay for no-show appointments or late cancellations.
